Traditional and Independent Publishing

I’ve realized in talking to friends lately that many people are unaware of what independent publishing is, that you can publish a book directly to Amazon. So today’s blog will talk about the differences between Traditional Publishing and Independent Publishing. Continue reading “Traditional and Independent Publishing”

Marketing for Independent Authors, Part 2

In my last post, I wrote about marketing a new book and preparing for launch. Today I’ll cover marketing the book after launch. Leveraging Amazon’s marketing engine is great, but there are other things we can do to let potential readers know about your book. Continue reading “Marketing for Independent Authors, Part 2”

Marketing for Independent Authors, Part 1

Today I’d like to share what I’ve learned about marketing a novel. I’ve chosen not to go the traditional publishing route, where you’re dependent on the publisher to market for you. As an independent author (a.k.a. “self-published”), I am entirely responsible for marketing my work. Lost in Space

I’m very excited that Netflix is rebooting the old Lost in Space show (starts this Friday), and I’ll come back later and tell you what I think of it, but right now, I want to reminisce about the original show, which was aired for three seasons on CBS back in 1965-1968. Novel Status Update – April 9, 2018

I’m expecting it back from her around the end of April, which should give me the month of May to update it from her feedback, and get a final version up for sale on Amazon in June (woo-hoo!). A Tribute to My Teacher

They don’t let just anybody teach those kind of classes, so you know Mrs. B was the cream of the crop. Continue reading “A Tribute to My Teacher”

Beta-Read starts this week!

Do you want to get a free copy of my new Sci-Fi novel, Star Riders, to read and review? Now’s the time to let me know by email.

As of today, I am 75% done with the final sweep through the revised version, and I fully expect to be ready by Wednesday (possibly Tuesday!) to send out the pre-publication version for volunteer Beta-readers to read and critique. Continue reading “Beta-Read starts this week!”
